Care, checked.

A workbook for your care search

Your starting note

# Name what you want help with

Begin with your own words

What is hard to do? What do you hope will change? Put that goal on paper before looking at another care offer.

Person Name · licence · record

Treatment Name · evidence · limits

Your decision What is still unanswered?

Keep the person and the treatment on separate lines.

## Ask for a treatment name

Take the page or advert to the visit. Ask whether the proposal is a medicine, an injection, or another kind of care. Ask for its full name in writing.

Keep asking until you can say back what is being offered. A word you cannot explain belongs on your question list.

## If the offer mentions peptides

Tiny chemical parts linked into a short chain form a peptide.

Insulin is a peptide; some medicines used for weight loss are peptides too.

Under US rules checked as of September 26, 2026, the word “peptide” by itself does not show whether a product is allowed.

The rules depend on whether the exact product has Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, is made to order within the law, or is an unapproved medicine.

Made to order means a pharmacy or doctor mixes or makes the medicine for a patient.

Read the FDA background

Ask what the exact product is meant to do for your problem. Different peptide products are not all the same kind of care.

FDA: medicines made to order FDA: rules for medicine ingredients

## Make a note to take with you

What I want help with

What I have already tried

The proposed treatment, in full

The words I need explained

## Keep your goal in the conversation

Ask how the doctor would judge progress toward your goal. Ask when you would talk again, and what would lead them to change the plan. You can ask for an explanation again.

## Carry this forward

Bring your goal and the offer to the same conversation.

Leave space for anything you still do not understand.

Check who will assess you →
